a charity triathlon alongside Anna Kournikova, Felicity Huffman and Jennifer Lopez.

Supermodel Cindy Crawford was among the spectators at the three-part race in Malibu.

McConaughey was cheered on by girlfriend Camila Alves and their baby son Levi and finished the event after one hour, 30 minutes and 44.7 seconds.

He was joined by Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman and husband William H. Macy who were the perfect team as they completed the Nautica Malibu Triathlon together.

Meanwhile retired tennis player Kournikova turned her hand to a different sport as she joined the stars taking part in the event.

The competition raised nearly $1million for various charities and featured a half-mile ocean swim, an 18 mile out-and-back bike course, and a 4-mile out-and-back run course.

The course wound through some of the most beautiful scenic roads in Malibu, with dramatic views of both the mountains and the Pacific Ocean.

The Brazilian model looked amazingly slender at the launch of her new MUXO handbag collection at the Kitson boutique on Robertson Boulevard in Beverly Hills, California.

While the paparazzi gathered outside, protective dad Matthew gently placed a blanket over the front of the couple's son Levi's car baby seat, to protect him from the glare of camera flashes, and carried him inside.

It's been a decade since the native Texan was famously arrested after playing the bongos in the nude while allegedly under the influence of marijuana.

McConnaughey said previously that he had been preparing for fatherhood since the the age of ten.

'Bringing a baby into the world is something I've always wanted and now I'm completely ready for my life to start revolving around another human being,' he said.

'I carefully maintain relationships and friendships. I'm committed to my acting career. But to be the architect of a little creature's life is my next big adventure and I can't wait for it to begin.'
