No Love for Japanese Actress Ryoko Yonekura

The tabloid newspapers have been reporting recently that the latest big couple, as they say in Japan, — namely, budding kabuki actor Ebizo Ichikawa, 28, and actress Ryoko Yonekura, 30 - have broken up.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comThere were indications however, that their relationship already ended months ago. A friend of Ichikawa recalls seeing him carelessly throwing a cell phone strap, which had been a gift from Yonekura, into a trashcan. "I was surprised because it was made of gold and looked really expensive."

According to an acquaintance, the relationship ended soon after Golden Week in May when Yonekura could no longer tolerate Ichikawa's obsessive attitude. "Don't go to that store" and "Who are you hanging out with?" were some of Ichikawa's frequently asked questions, said the friend.

However, it seems that they were not able to completely free themselves from each other. Even after the breakup, the two were seen together in public at restaurants on various occasions, and also at the funeral of Yonekura's father in November.

Currrently, Yonekura's acting career is on the rise and nothing, not even a love relationship, will hold her back. She was highly praised for her lead in the TV drama "Kurokawa-no-Techo" in 2004. "I am 'married' to my work," she often says to show how much she is determined and willing to devote herself to her career.

She has just finished filming a new TV drama, Kemonomichi.
