Pregnant Charlotte Church's tight dress shows off all her lumps and bumps

When you are six months pregnant with an ever-expanding bump to maintain, it makes sense to stock up on supplies.

Charlotte Church, 22, had plenty of fuel to ward off hunger pangs as she filled the boot of her people carrier yesterday.

The Welsh-born singer and TV presenter is expecting her second child with rugby player boyfriend Gavin Henson, 26, in January.

Though saying she was 'delighted' to be expecting again, she has expressed worries that her weight would 'balloon', and is believed to be craving junk food.

When pregnant with daughter Ruby Megan last year she is thought to have put on four stone.

However, her mother Maria, 42, said that while Charlotte isn't as heavy this time round, she isn't bothered about gaining weight.

She said: 'I can’t believe what I read sometimes about Charl getting fat. Of course she’s getting bigger - she’s pregnant.

'What do people think happens? It’s ridiculous. [She] doesn’t give a s**t about her weight.

'She has put on half the weight she did with Ruby. She looks good and she loves the way she looks. So does Gav.

'The most important thing to her is to stay fit and healthy for the baby – not getting into a size 8.'

Expanding their brood: Charlotte and Gavin are already parents to one-year-old Ruby

After filming the third series of her Channel 4 chat show in the summer, Charlotte is taking more time out of her career to concentrate on motherhood.

She said: 'I love singing and always want to do that, but my family is most important to me as I don’t want to neglect my responsibilities as a mother.

'I’ve just been at home, cooking and cleaning and looking after my gorgeous little baba.'

The singer and her boyfriend Gavin have also been adding to their farm at their Vale of Glamorgan home.

She enthused: 'We’ve got 2 goats, we’re getting 2 pigs before Christmas, 20 chickens and 2 geese, which we’re going to eat at Christmas.'
